Fascinating. Maybe I’ve misjudged the importance of these magical entities…I’m a Cancer. I assume that means I’m smarter than other people?

The Evolution of Poor Lucky Me

I started writing in 2008, when blogs were a totally respectable way for people to satisfy their hunger for attention. So I started by writing a funny advice column called Poor Lucky Me - which was a nod to how good I had it. All my complaints had to have some good humor attached because I really had a lovely life. Back then the owl even had a winking eye! Then I got pregnant, and our beautiful son was born almost three months too early. He lived for 5 days. We left the hospital with no baby and no idea what we were supposed to make of our lives. I kept writing, but now my owl had both his eyes open. And eventually we got pregnant again with a healthy and precious daughter named Hazel. Life marched along and we grew up and wonderful things happened and tragedies happened and I kept complaining and I kept appreciating. But I didn't write as often. Blogs fell out of fashion and I got into other hobbies. And then I got cancer.
